Founder of Pink Out Springfield
After Breast Cancer (ABC) Coordinator at the Robertson County Family YMCA
I am Christy Emmons, founder of the Pink Out Springfield movement.
Nine years ago, I heard words no one ever wants to hear: “You have breast cancer.”
Those words changed my life forever.
I’ve learned that God can bring purpose even from the hardest chapters of our lives. My breast cancer journey has led me to a calling I never expected or planned.
Today, working as the Coordinator for the After Breast Cancer program at the Robertson County YMCA, I have the privilege of walking alongside these incredible women as I watch them heal and recover, regain their strength, and find hope again. Being part of their journey has become one of my life’s greatest joys.
After moving to Springfield, I began asking myself a question: What if an entire community came together to visibly support those affected by breast cancer?
That question became a vision. And that vision became Pink Out Springfield.
Pink Out Springfield is about so much more than decorations or awareness.
It’s about honoring survivors, remembering those we’ve lost, supporting those who are still fighting, and bringing our community together around a cause that touches so many lives.
My hope is that Pink Out Springfield becomes a tradition our community embraces each year—a reminder that no one affected by breast cancer has to walk alone.
What started as an idea in my heart has transformed into something real.
